Use the amount you actually have

Scale a recipe based on one ingredient

If a recipe needs 500 g of flour but you only have 327 g, resize the entire ingredient list to 65.4% in one step.

Why this is different from a normal recipe scaler

A normal scaler starts with serving count. This tool starts with your limiting ingredient. The factor is simply available amount ÷ required amount, then that factor is applied to the rest of the recipe.

Example: 327 g flour instead of 500 g

327 ÷ 500 = 0.654, so a recipe that needs 300 g sugar becomes about 196 g sugar and a 200 g butter quantity becomes about 131 g.

Fractions and eggs

FOOGG formats many scaled values as practical fractions. If eggs become fractional, beat the egg and use only the required proportion if precision matters. Do not assume every taste-sensitive ingredient scales perfectly linearly.

If several ingredients are limited, use Use What I Have so FOOGG can find the tightest constraint automatically.
